The guilt-free, non-regulated nostalgia of bygone eras. From the gooey goodness of an unctuously cheesy burger and fries to the velvety feel of a Vaudeville era theatre, these represent good things. Today, everybody has their favorite corner bar with 75-cent taps that could charge cover for the conversation or a favorite hot-dog car, taco stand, ice cream joint or steakhouse that stirs up memories and makes your mouth water. All these are examples of what we call Modern Americana, where the small business does it better than anybody else.
